Man Found Dead in North Cork After Suspected Assault

A man whose body was found in the early hours of the morning in North Cork has been identified as Barry Daly.

Barry Daly's body was discovered in the Mallow area, specifically at Rockview Terrace in Doneraile, a small town northeast of Mallow.

It is believed that Mr. Daly, aged in his 40s, was violently assaulted on his way home from a night out. Gardaí are investigating all circumstances and may upgrade the investigation to a murder probe.

He was a one of a kind, a gentleman. Not a bad bone in his body.

A local resident described Mr. Daly as a kind and gentle person. Local TD John Paul O’Shea said:

This is a very tragic event that has happened in Doneraile. The town is reeling with the news of the death of this man.

Gardaí hope that witnesses with any information can assist the investigation.
