Domestic Violence Incident Sparks Police Response
A large law enforcement presence was seen at a business near the Tom Arrendale Interchange on Monday afternoon.
According to the Habersham County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a business on Toccoa Highway after 5 p.m. following a report of a carjacking.
However, investigators determined that the incident was actually a domestic violence incident, not a carjacking, due to a misunderstanding by a third party who reported the details to dispatchers.
Charges are pending, but no further details were provided. The sheriff's office assured the public that there was no danger.
