A Wind Advisory has been issued for our area by NOAA, effective from tonight to Wednesday, with gusty southerly winds expected at 35-55 mph and isolated gusts of 65 mph.
This may cause tree limbs to be blown down, resulting in isolated power outages. Residents are advised to be prepared with flashlights and extra batteries.
A High Wind Warning is issued when winds are expected to be 40 mph or more, and wind gusts are expected to be 58 mph or more, helping to prepare for potential property damage, disruptions to outdoor activities, and transportation issues.
Fast winds can make things much more dangerous in places where there’s a bigger chance of wildfires.
In such cases, the National Weather Service issues a Red Flag Warning when it’s very windy and dry.
