A new poll by the Public Institute of California (PPIC) reveals that 56% of likely California voters favor Proposition 50, a ballot measure that proposes a redrawn congressional map.

Independent voters are leaning towards the left, with 55% supporting the proposition. The proposed map, supported by Gavin Newsom and passed by the state legislature in August, could give Democrats the opportunity to flip five Republican-held seats.
