UMD Student Creates Mental Health Brand

A University of Maryland student, Ella Macduff, and her mother, Terri Macduff, have launched a mental health brand called Chasing Red Flags.

The idea for the brand was born during an 8-hour road trip to the university in 2023, where they opened up about their personal struggles.

“authenticity over perfection”

Within two days, they had chosen a name and filed for a limited liability company, and the brand officially launched in January 2024.

Ella Macduff, a senior management major, and her mother have also published a self-reflection journal titled "Let's Get Real."
