Kentucky students are invited to participate in the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's annual Poster and Essay Contest, announced Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell.
The 2026 contest theme is "Bluegrass Roots, Agriculture Strong", which encourages contestants to illustrate how Kentucky's heritage is reflected in its agriculture through words, original artwork, or photographs.
"Kentucky's history is deeply rooted in agriculture. Residents can be proud of the work farmers and producers do every day to honor that history and plan for the future," said Commissioner Shell.
Commissioner Shell added that the contest allows students to showcase their appreciation for Kentucky farmers and their contributions to the community by sharing how the state's farming past has shaped its future.
