A former Sunday newspaper editor, Yvonne Ridley, has been released from Israeli imprisonment after attempting to deliver aid to Gaza.
'It was worse than being captured by Taliban'
Yvonne, a former editor of Wales on Sunday, was on board the Global Simud Flotilla of ships intercepted by Israeli forces. She was arrested and taken into custody, with her whereabouts unknown for a while.
Following her release, Yvonne was flown by private jet to Tripoli by the Libyan government, as the UK government allegedly refused to pay for her repatriation to the UK.
"I just want to thank every single one of you who campaigned, who prayed, who petitioned, who protested for the freedom of myself and my fellow flotilla crew members."
Yvonne expressed her gratitude and joy at being reunited with her husband in Istanbul.
