More terminally ill Coloradans than ever are turning to Denver Health’s Medical Aid in Dying clinic.

A patient, Alan Koziel, was diagnosed with small-cell carcinoma, a particularly aggressive form of lung cancer.

his wife, Patricia, said. Alan’s cancer had spread to 11 parts of his body, and he was in a lot of pain, relying on an oxygen tank and taking many pills.
