Sunrise Introduces AI-Powered 'SuperSearch' for TV Content Discovery

Swiss telco Sunrise has launched an AI-based voice search function for its TV platform, becoming the first TV provider in Switzerland to offer such a feature.

Called SuperSearch, the new tool allows users to find films, series and other programmes across multiple platforms with natural voice commands such as

“Show me films featuring Brad Pitt”
. Instead of scrolling through programme guides or navigating between apps, viewers can now use conversational search to locate content spanning live and replay TV, on-demand catalogues and major streaming services including Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and Sky.

The system is powered by Google’s Gemini Flash large language model, enabling it to understand complex, context-driven requests and return results tailored to each viewer’s preferences.

According to Sunrise, the feature represents a major leap from traditional keyword-based searches, providing a more intuitive and personalised way to explore entertainment content.
