Splitting of Attorney-General's Role
President Nikos Christodoulides stated that dividing the role of the attorney-general into two is "necessary" as a measure of modernisation.
"It will strengthen people's trust in justice, ensure accountability and harmonise our country's situation with European and international standards,"
he said, addressing a conference on the matter, citing "societal demand" for the change.
