Typhoon Leaves Flooded Alaska Villages Facing Tough Recovery
Typhoon Halong, fueled by the Pacific's near-record warm surface temperatures, brought a storm surge to Western Alaska's Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta on Oct. 12, 2025.
The storm flooded villages up to 60 miles up the river, pushing homes off their foundations and setting some afloat with people inside, according to officials.
