Mount Pleasant Residents Push for Speed Humps After Near-Miss Incident

A neighborhood in Mount Pleasant is urging the Town Council to install speed humps on a road with a history of concerns.

Residents of the Oaks at Marsh View have been seeking speed humps on Mossy Branch Way for nearly four years. According to Sandy Quinqe, the homeowner's association president, drivers often use the road as a shortcut from Rifle Range Road to Ben Sawyer Boulevard.

Despite three traffic studies, no action has been taken. However, a recent close call has prompted neighbors to take their requests directly to the town council.

"We had this horrible thing,"
said Brittany Webb, an Oaks at Marsh View resident.
"Had we just gotten a speed bump that we'd been asking for, this could have slowed him down."
