The City of Kelowna has provided an update on the hacking of airport systems on Tuesday.
The hacker gained access to the terminal's flight information screens and PA system, but was shut down "within a matter of minutes."
"All affected systems were isolated and verified before being restored late last night,"
The City stated that the cyber security incident was limited to a cloud-based third party software provider and airport systems are segregated to protect against cyber security incidents.
A threat assessment was carried out by the RCMP and Transport Canada, and the hacker's messaging was "not deemed to be a direct threat towards the travelling public."
The hacker's messaging included anti-Israel, pro-Hamas and jihadist sentiment.
