Colorado clerks are attempting to alleviate concerns over a potential 'MAGA takeover' of the state's election equipment supplier after the sudden sale of Denver-based Dominion Voting Systems to a former Republican election official.
The new owner has renamed the company Liberty Vote, catching many county clerks off guard, including unaffiliated clerk Tiffany Lee from La Plata County.
“There was no notification to us that this was even a conversation at their level,”
said Lee, who found out about the sale through the media and Liberty Vote's press release.
“That's concerning to me that we didn't get any kind of information from them directly or Dominion,”
she added. Currently, 60 of Colorado's 64 counties have contracts with Dominion for their ballot scanning and counting technology.
