Jessica Pegula Defeats Aryna Sabalenka in Wuhan Open
Jessica Pegula has finally defeated Aryna Sabalenka, coming from a set down to secure her third win over the Belarusian in 11 matches.
Pegula now trails 3-8 in head-to-head matchups against Sabalenka, the World No.1.
Prior to this season, Pegula had never progressed beyond the third round in Wuhan and had not played a quarterfinal in a WTA 1000 event of the East Asian swing.
Her China Open run was ended by Linda Noskova in the semifinals before arriving in Wuhan.
