Sanrio Brings My Melody and Kuromi Game Plaza to NYCC
The interactive pop-up, featuring original arcade-style games and character-themed photo spots, debuts in the U.S.
Sanrio launches the international debut of My Melody and Kuromi Game Plaza at New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2025, held in October.
Originally created in Tokyo to mark My Melody’s 50th anniversary and Kuromi’s 20th, the pop-up centers on the duo’s friendship, referred to as “Melokuro.”
Visitors can play three original arcade-style games and take photos at immersive, character-themed spots, connecting with the characters in interactive ways.
Following its Japan run, which attracted more than 140,000 visitors, the U.S. premiere responds to global fan interest.
NYCC, one of North America’s largest pop culture conventions, draws over 200,000 attendees annually and spans comics, anime, games, and film.
