Queensland farmer Hamish McIntyre has been elected as the 15th president of the National Farmers' Federation (NFF).
McIntyre, the former chair of Cotton Australia, will assume the office from David Jochinke, who has served the maximum 12-year term on the NFF board.
"I am honoured to be elected as the NFF President,"
he said in a statement. McIntyre runs a family-owned farming business in Queensland and was elected as an NFF director in 2023.
The appointment will be formally ratified at the NFF annual general meeting next week.
