Mt. Blue Alumna Mali Obomsawin to Perform with Yo-Yo Ma
Mali Obomsawin, a Mt. Blue alumna, will perform at Portland's Merrill Auditorium with Yo-Yo Ma in a sold-out concert titled "We Are Water: A Northeast Celebration" on October 20.
Obomsawin has a strong musical background, having participated in the Mt. Blue Orchestra program and Franklin County Fiddlers programs, and received the National School Orchestra award. She was also first chair bass in the All State Orchestra and studied with Karen McCann.
After Mt. Blue, Mali continued her education at Berklee College of Music and Dartmouth College. In 2018, she donated her Upton Bass to the Mt. Blue Orchestra Program for student use.
