This was followed by the September 3 military parade in Beijing to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War.
The communique of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China highlighted the importance of pursuing major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics, a cornerstone for China's evolving global role.
As a result, the Global South, instead of continuing to be a spectator, is helping shape a fairer global order.
