Waymo, the self-driving company owned by Alphabet, is planning to operate on highways, enter six new U.S. cities, and launch in London, targeting one million rides by 2026.
“It is imperative that we scale,”
said Tekedra Mawakana, co-CEO of Waymo, while speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025. The company aims to increase its weekly autonomous rides from hundreds of thousands to one million by the end of 2026, with a focus on safety above all else.
