City Submits Riverfront Grant Application

Warren officials have submitted a $1 million grant to the Appalachian Regional Commission, hoping to secure the final piece of funding for the first phase of Allegheny Riverfront development.

The first phase of the project includes the installation of a boat ramp, a stairway, and a floating dock to facilitate access for boaters and pedestrians.

"This isn’t just a total shot in the dark," said Chad Yurisic, city engineer. "We think we’re getting closer."

According to Yurisic, the city has reached the third hurdle for the initial phase of the project, with construction expected to begin in the spring.
