My sister and I took a walk to explore a very old cemetery, tucked away on a quiet country road. We had never walked through it before, and there is no driveway to enter, so it sits in solitude.
You live as long as you are remembered.
We explored the cemetery, attempting to read ancient soapstone monuments from our home community. This interest may seem odd to some, but it's a way to connect with our past.
I recall fighting back against vandals who desecrated the oldest cemetery in our region, the Eckley Cemetery, around 1990. My sister joined me in this effort.
