Disney Ended Doctor Who Partnership for These 3 Reasons
Disney has exited the Doctor Who business due to a combination of factors. A new report from Deadline reveals that three reasons contributed to the breakup: ratings, budget, and MAGA politics.
The two Doctor Who seasons on Disney+ failed to generate the desired ratings, with the past season not registering on Nielsen and Luminate's streaming charts. The seasons starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor did not match the ratings of the last season with Jodie Whittaker in 2021.
There is more to that role than performing
A source close to the matter stated that Gatwa, who left Doctor Who after two seasons, never "fully embraced" playing the Doctor.
