Deen's Daily: Erik Johnson and NHL Updates
Erik Johnson's new role is a perfect fit, and the Colorado Avalanche have a well-deserved break after a busy opening week.
The team had a tough schedule, with two road trips to L.A. and Buffalo, and two home games in between. The Sabres game was particularly challenging, with a quick turnaround after a shootout loss on Saturday.
Now, the Avalanche have over 72 hours between games, allowing them to work on areas for improvement after a successful 3-0-1 start.
Additionally, the league is dealing with significant goalie injuries, and the New York Rangers have set a new home record they wish they could forget.
