There were 103 company insolvencies registered in Scotland in September, a 41% increase compared to the same month last year.

According to the Accountant in Bankruptcy, Scotland's insolvency service, there were 3 restructuring plans and 1 moratorium in Scotland between June 26, 2020, and September 30, 2025.

The total insolvency rate in Scotland for the 12 months to September was 52.2 per 10,000 companies, down 0.3 from the preceding 12 months.

Next month's Budget will be decisive in shaping the near-term operating landscape, said Michelle Elliot, restructuring advisory partner at FRP in Glasgow.
