Cargo Plane Accident in Hong Kong

A cargo plane skidded off the runway at Hong Kong International Airport and landed in the sea, resulting in the deaths of two security personnel.

The incident occurred on Monday, October 20, at approximately 03:50 local time (19:50 GMT). The plane, a Boeing 747 owned by Turkish cargo airline Air ACT, was operating as an Emirates flight (EK9788).

The aircraft, which is over 30 years old, broke into two pieces after landing in the sea. The two security personnel, aged 30 and 41, were killed when their vehicle was pushed into the sea by the plane.

All four crew members on board the plane were rescued and taken to hospital.

No official statement has been released regarding the cause of the accident.
